Ribbons are sort of like a corporate holiday fruit basket or anniversary pen, except instead of getting them for sitting in a chair for 5 years playing Minesweeper, you get them for SWEEPING MINES. Sometimes one is given for completion of a tour in some place you've probably never heard of or thought about. Other times it's for some "WTF" moment of bad-assery you'd have nightmares about, even if you could imagine it. This board is a tribute to those who do a job most of us can't or won't.Speaking of doing the job, this board does. Its sintered base with park core, and beefed up PowerBeam carbon make it a great all around performer. It's a bit stiff, with carbon running straight down the gig line for extended, multiple-year deployments. It is also the first board in the world that combines a lathed True3D base with traditional camber, for the purist that still hates the idea of falling backwards on caught-edged frontside boardslides. The Ribbons is a board made for the camber purist that still wants some features that make riding easier in specific situations. Whether it's on rails or plowing through chunder, the ribbons' addition of True3D to a cambered model makes controlling the board a bit safer, allowing you to butter out of slightly under-spun tricks and preventing lead-edge catch on rails and boxes that can leave a rider wounded-in-action.
